First you need to install Barkley DB properly. You don't need to specify any locatin, it will get installed by default in /user/local/BarkleyDB/ .

You have to untar the files and then goto that directory and then ./configure then make and then make install .
....

Now install squid gaurd.. again untar it at any location you want then ./configure .. and use any option you required from the installation instruction ..

So You dont' need to decide where to install it will done automatically. !!

See that installation again.. and check where you are msissing.
