Hi, check out this tutorial, (http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_server_opensuse10.3
) I followed it when I practiced installing my server and it is great. Of course  things are not going to straight as you would wish, just hang in there and ask more questions when you get stuck.

You can also find the specific distribution you want to use on that website as well.
