Title: Which is the best multimedia movie player for linux for a newbie ?

Hi
because of my work I have to now use linux and someone please suggest best linux movie player which is easy for noob like me and also capable so that when I learn more linux I do not have to shift to other media player.

Its just matter of choice what you like.
For me mPlayer is best
Others are also there like
VLC
XINE

But I like mpLayer a lot that if I have to use windows machine then I use windows port of mPlayer.
It has GUI also known as GmPLayer . It is not fancy as windows media player but powerful.
