Dear Yzq:
Yes, Realplay does support rmvb, I am sure it is a goods since there are so many movies on Internet using this format. However, it does not support wma :-<
By the way, when I tried to install mplayer, it always can not pass the independy test. Can you tell me what procedure you installed it? I am using fedora v1...
Thanks in advanced!

Well guys,
U could use slackware, because of incompatible lcensing issues, WMA files as well as MP3 formats are not supported by quite many distros including Fedora, therefore, u must get the codec independently.
For Slackers (im used Slackware 10, and using 10.1 now). Not a problem. U can even play flash movies on this baby.
Fedora nowadays are as big as an elephant. Man i don't like swapping so many cds and running a sloooow Linux.
Lastly, Realplayer for linux is available at:

Hi, there.
When I tried to install mplayer and it always shows this error message:"libmp31ame.so.0 is required" and can not process any more.
I am using Fedora 1. Since Redhat does not support mp3 any more, should I install any third party thing?
Thanks in advanced.

libmp31ame.so.0 ?
Yes, in this case u definitely new the libmp3ame.
Try finding in the rpm library
www.rpmfind.net
or
google around as this might be no rpm package, in this case, u need to compile this library from sources.

Boys and girls, when im currently using mplayer with KMPlayer as a fronted GUI rather than running it from the scary konsole, it's so cool man, how did i do it?
Well, nothing, i just went up to
http://www.linuxpackages.net
and have it installed on my Slackware 10.1 using it's tarball.
For, Slackware 10.1: To succesfully install, u will need:
1. libdv-xxx
2. libtheora-xxx
3. lame (libmp3lame library)
And lastly of course ur mplayer.
libmp3lame is actually belongs to :
lame-xxx.xxx.tar.gz
