Title: edge firewall, squid and pop3 - smtp problem
Post by: sa3 on February 05, 2006, 06:58:53 PM
Dear Ricky

I have an edge firewall, wherein i have configured access policy :
all proxy users traffic to go to proxy server. Ports open on FW Access policy are port 80, 443, 21, 25 and 110

i have configured Squid as my proxy server. Squid has got 2 NIC's. One connects to the NIC of the FW and the other to Broadband Internet Router. I have also configured Dansguardian on this.
users - dansguardian - squid - internet

my users are able to browse internet, but not able to connect to mail servers through pop3 / smtp.

how exactly do i do this with iptables ?

would appreciate your advise on this.

thanks.

well make your 110 and 25 port traffic to handle directly.. ie port forwarding particularly for those two ports and also 443 .

u may do this by your firewall by making an ip forword entry . or by any seperate script.
