Title: Squid asking Internet Explorer for username and password
Post by: waynefourie on August 05, 2004, 06:50:19 AM
To all who can help me PLEASE.

I got squid installed on fedora core 2 and on my windows machine I have the properties of Internet Explorer set to use Fedora as a proxy thus i have squid installed wich does what i want perfectly.

Now this is what i want to know. When I click on Internet explorer and it asks me for a username and password (wich is correct) I want to be able to use the user account that is on my win2k server to gain access without manually creating the username and password on the fedora machine (Is that even possible).

This is what works on the fedora machine. Samba and winbind so getent and all the other commands succeeds that i know of and squid asks for username and password which i want it to do.

So if there is anybody that might help me. PLEASE I'LL BE GREATFUL

Thank you,
Wayne
