Am having a problem with Mp3 files in my RH 8.0 . They dont seem to load in the XMMS playlist editor. Can someone out there help me
-
Strange..
btw how you are adding files in playlist..
can you elaborate a little more ?
-
To be precise, when i click on "add files" XMMS brings up the add files dialogue but does not load on the playlist.
-
umm.. tried reinstalling ?
-
yes i've reinstalled linux more than 4 times. am lost
-
Huh... Ricky was talking about reinstalling XMMS .... not the whole Linux !!!
If you can see your MP3 files in FileOpen dialog then you should be able to add files to your playlist.... Is your MP3 collection on a different partition (FAT32) that needs to be mounted ?
-
I think in RHL 8.0 + they have removed support for mp3 in XMMS ......
It will obviously not work... Recmpile the Xmms see this link http://www.linuxsolved.com/forums/ftopic715.html

Hi
This is not the installation Problem.......
Actually XMMS player which comes with the Linux Distribution had a problem that the u can't add the files in playlist...........
To make it running u have to downloadl the Xmms player plugins ..which u can download from the site..
http://www.gurulabs.com/goodies/downloads.php
After that install these plugins and run XMMS player..again . Just try to add 2-3 mp3 files ..It will definitly play it :D
