Title: How to use X Window system over a network?

Have a simple home network. How can the X server on the remote computer be used by the current computer, as it were?

The X howtos I've seen say this is beyond their scope. :(

X Server, i normally use Nautilus to  browse the the network PCs for Samba, optionally Komba and LinNeighbourhood is also able to do so.

Recommended is LinNeighbourhood since it's the easy to use. Or, Nautilus if u use RedHat. Just a few clicks away.

Hi.. well i havn't gone through for such thing.. If you want to make use of an old PC.. that is not so excelent to run a full fledged linux then you can gof ro LtsP . Linux terminal project. see ltsp.org and if you need to do something else. wht i got..  see http://www.xs4all.nl/~zweije/xauth.html

Thanks Ricky, dragoncity99. Seems, from the hyperlink, you can use a very old computer, example given a 486, as a dedicated X server with no performance problem at all. This very helpfull to me.
