for recording from line-in I'd like to use mhwaveedit - but I keep getting error-messages because the device from which to record is not recognised - line-in via the alsamixer works fine over the speakers - what do I have to fill in as device

update 090701 - found out I had to set alsamixer  "mix"  to capture and leave device to default - it now works, thank you for your attention
