Dear All,

I am stuck up in a strange problem. I was running CentOS 5.0 on a Lenovo PC having Intel 945 chipset.

I ran "yum update" to update the OS to CentOS 5.2 which ran successfully. After reboot I am not in a position to log into Gnome session. I tried to explore further - to my surprise, the "sessions" option in the Login screen does not show entry for GNOME session. This only contains three entries- Last Session, System Default session and failsafe terminal.

This surely happened after running "yum update" as it was working okay before the update.

Can some one suggest solution for this issue ?

Thanks In Advance

I heard somewhere that CentOS 5.2 had problem with Gnome, I think same with you.

Anyways, try following :
Code:
switchdesk

Can you see anything for Gnome there ?
