Title: Can't get the external PC speakers to work
Post by: Steve_tan71 on August 22, 2005, 05:04:38 AM
Hi, I have a CPU Intel 865G chipset on my motherboard with integrated sound card of model ADI 1980 5.1.

I have installed a RH linux OS with kernel version 2.4.26.
I am able to insmod "i810_audio" driver for the card.
But when I play audio, no sound cominf out from the external PC speakers.

Am I loading the correct driver? Anything need to be done for the ecternal speakers?

Please advice?

Regards,
Steve

You have here mentioned that external PC spearker are not working .. do I take it as your internal speaker are working ???
I had one PC in which you can use its internal speaker also to play sound / media files.

So if that is the case then check your speaker if they are fine . Also if the machine is dual boot then you can check it on windows

I have dual boot in this machine. Tested the speakers with Windows & they are working fine.

But when come to Linux OS, the external speakers cun produce sound.
I dun think the machine has a internal speaker.

Any suggestion?
