Ok
Tell me r u using dns server..i.e which resolves ip-address to corresponding computer names....?

if u r not using that .. then u must do that..otherwise its just difficult to accessing client computers through corresponding names.

Cheers
Gaurav

Hi gaurav

no i don't have any DNS server in my network, just i have 1 linux RHEL3 box and 30 windows 2000 clients. Is the problem is due to transparent proxy or any other thing.

Actually I am also using transparent proxy ..but i can see the whole computer names in NW Neighbour hood..Its May be due to  DNS Server I am using...

Actually i have made a DNS Server and give that server ip in all my clients and that DNS server basically resolves all clients ip to their respective names...As I have made entries of all client- names and their respective ip's in that DNS Server..., So its my DNS that resolve this....

in squid proxy also i have given my DNS server entry...

Ok  just tell me that Can  u able to see the clients names without TRANSPARENT PROXY????

Gaurav
