when i switch on pc after some time,linux iis not booting properly and instead of usual desktop it iis showing fed-up lining in different color.after rebooting with xp it works but not always. after rebooting more times only it is able to start.[/quote]

So you are running dual boot and your problem is that sometimes you start PC then linux don't works also sometimes winXP also don't works.
Try to first run disk checkup both in linux and windows.
Then if it still give problem then you have hardware problem, probably bad hd or may be display card.
