Dear Friends
My client ask me one question kindly tell me the answer
Is a Static IP or Dynamic IP address ( PPPOE connection ) being used for the
mail server ?

for mails to be exchanged server require an mx entry in the dns it self and which is populated as well . so if u are using dinamic dns then it is possible to use a dynamic ip for mail server but even than the mail server will create many problems as mx entry needed to be changes as soon as the ip address of the mail server changes beside it as this entry is propogated thrugh the dns so it will become very confusing for the other dns to resolve the perticular mail server easely older entrys in other dns may create problem as rappid updating of the entry may be not possible to all the dns.
so its batter prectice to use static ip in place of dynamic ip for any type of public server.
and thats why nearly every public server is hosted on the static ips.
so at last u can say that hosing mail server on dynamic ip is possible with a great deal of complicasy while static ip will porvied smoothe functining of the servers.
