It is simple, first make sure there is free space on your hard drive for Linux then install windows, after that go for linux (distro of your choice) and during install choose that free partition or space as linux installation.

When finished, you will find Dual boot linux and windows on same disk

So you have Ubuntu already installed but you want to install windows ?
Then if you have separate partition which can be formatted ntfs and used for windows then go ahead and install windows on that partition, Ubuntu won't be affected.

Only thing then you will need is to reinstall Grub as you windows will wipe out Grub (not ubuntu). For that you can run ubuntu directly from CD and then run :
Code: [Select]
grub-install /dev/hda
That way you will have your grub back and you can now boot into Linux or Windows.
