Title: Ubuntu Installation On Vista Basic

Is there any precautions should be taken when installing Ubuntu 8.04 on Vista basic on note book.

Plan to install on top of VMware

If you are installing on VMware then nothing to worry about. Just make sure you have good amount of RAM.

Thax Ricky. I guess I GB RAM is sufficient.

It will work on 1GB RAM but you can not enjoy it. Reason is that Vista itself need more than 1GB RAM to work smoothly. Though you can set VISTA to work in performance mode ie. without any fancy then I guess you can use can use ubuntu inside VMWARE .
