Post by: Dylian17 on March 12, 2008, 06:44:52 PM
Hi everybody mu name is Heiner and I am a Linux user from Costa Rica... well time ago I "unistalled" Vista in the computer that I use and I made a successful downgrade from Vista to XP, then I tried to install Mandriva or Ubuntu Gutsy and I can't . What i get running my live versions of both Linux distros is something like a Kernel Panic cuz is throwing me a lot of strange codes and i dunno what it means... somebody can help me?... I use an Intel Isleton motherboard with a Core2Duo at 2.00 each core, running actually a Win XP from a 400 gb HD SATA.

Thanks by advance.

When kernel panic occur ? Well.. if there is some faulty hardware or some incompatible hardware, some bug in operating system itself, problem of memory allocation etc.

So can you tell us where you exactly face kernel panic, may be posting those errors might help.

PS: I only do not about your motherboard, else seems fine.
