Title: Error During Boot MP-BIOS bug:8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
Post by: rajesh.bahl on July 14, 2007, 05:36:40 PM
Dear all,

Hello !  I am facing an error ( which I am not able to understand) with my recent installation of CentOS 4.4 on IBM x3800 server.Whenever the system boots, it displays error:
Summit chipset - Could not find valid CBAR value
MP-BIOS bug:8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC.

Otherwise the system is working okay and apperantly does not seem to have a operational problem.
Still the error is displayed every time the server boots. Can some one explain what is this error and how to correct it ?

regards

Not sure but searched and found that this problem will disappear after appending 'noapic' parameter....Did you try that?

or
change in  BIOS settings to "Add Extra Tables for ACPI 2.0 Support" .
