Title: Mandrake 9.2 and no sound on NVIDIA chipset
Post by: dalek on October 27, 2003, 01:34:39 PM
I had this problem with mine and have about sorted it out.  You need to download the driver from the NVIDIA website and install it.  Reboot so it will load properly.  Then change it to one of these drivers:  i810_audio or nvaudio.  The sound is a bit choppy though.  Trying to work that out.  At least I have some sound though.

Anybody have ideas on this one?  I'll just keep plugging away here.

Yep.  The sound works fine in Mandrake 9.1.  No problems at all.  Don't know what the problem was with 9.2.

Well how did the sound driver get corrupt in the advanced version?? Seems like there sould be some clash with the hardware. Sorry I am not a pro.
