Title: mail server
Post by: ilias on August 06, 2006, 01:47:42 PM
I have a qmail 1.02 with squirell mail client and have nearly 55 user ids on the server at the corporate office. All incoming and outgoing mails are fine.

Our users uses outlook /outlook express as the mail client to download mails. As long as the users are there in the office, no problem.

when some users travel to foreign countries, they are not able to access our mail server, this repeated for some time, later we found that pop3 and smtp ports request to outside is blocked at some of the network where users are connecting from.

Is there any way by which user can use outlook /express to download mails without the use of pop3 and smtp. I heard that  this available in exchange. any suggestion

Hi,

Web mail is working as it uses port 80, which is always open by default but in some network esp in UK and USA, outgoing request on pop3 and SMTP is blocked through Public Ip from client.
