Title: Modem HELP!!
Post by: shubhro2 on March 20, 2006, 05:35:46 PM
Hi!
I have an internal modem on my computer. I currently run FC 1 on it. I successfully configured the modem. And it did dial up a connection . But the problem is that my X server crashes 30-40 seconds after the connection is established and it cannot be started again. pinging the hosts from console also works fine. The only problem seems to be with my X server . Can anybody help me with that. Hoping a fast reply!
  BYE!!

I can't relate Xserver with internet connection. I would suggest you to try some LIVECd of linux and see if it crashes in that too.

I have never ran into this before either.  The dial-up programs are seperate from the X server.  Actually, the ppp daemon that is in the kernel takes care of that usually.  Could this be a hardware problem?
