Post by: dragoncity99 on February 14, 2004, 01:53:09 PM
Hi guys,

Which mode u use more in Linux?
Text mode or GUIs such as Gnome and KDE?

Please feel free to vote ;)

I like text mode more as, it's fast and i use linux for lot's of networking purposes.

Reason: I like to configure servers: DHCP, Mail, Web, File Server

Well.. for my case.. I use both 50:50 but I have voted for text as My important work in linux is done through text... But as every one knows command line net is of no use.. :)
I do my day to day work in graphical mode as it is faster ::: just click and go..
and my configuration work.. is done through console..

Well, i even use the text mode to surf net. Hahha

I'm using lynx to do so. I download and surf using that tool too. Not bad :)

But, one unfortunate thing is, haha i can't see those sites that are not W3C compatible format.

Well, word processing sure needs a gui--->Open office.
