basically it denotes that which class network u r using , it is short notation. btw.. we acutally use
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/24 or xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/16 where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is a ip address and 24 and 16 classify that to which class network they belong to .
u have used 225.225.225.0/24 is actally wrong. anyways..
following may clearify you more :
http://216.109.125.130/search/cache?p=network+subnet+classifications&ei=UTF-8&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&fr=moz2&u=www.windsor.k12.il.us/programs/subnetting.htm&w=network+subnet+classifications&d=UA2tT21aMLEs&icp=1&.intl=us
Also correct me if I am wrong .
