Title: Uninstall 3rd party s/w in Linux

Dear,

            I  have a question and that is when we install third party software in Linux (Like yahoo messenger & other s/w) , then which directory it locates. and if i want to  uninstall that software then from where i will uninstall that 3rd party s/w ?

thx for ur reply . But when I make install Yahoo Messenger in Linux 9.0 then i get just one .exe file.... it has no Uninstall Icon with that .

If i want to update this yahoo messenger then what will i do ...i mean how can i update my messenger in Linux . Can i install MSN Messenger in Linux ?

Barring this i want to install Yahoo messenger in Linux ES but i can't find any rpm package in any website .Brothers plz help .......

basically yahoo messenger installs in /opt directory, delete it from there and its uninstalled. BTW.. yahoo messenger has its uninstaller included with it.

Other software have there own respective location so its not sure where they will place thier files but mostly details are included in the packate itself.
