Title: net send equivalent in linux

I work in a private LAN. We send messages to each other in windows by the command net send.
Is there any similar comand in linux. or is there any software which does the same i.e., send messages to other comp in the lan. I am using fedora core 3. Thnks in advance.[/i][/b]

hello dear

use  

# smbclient -M   hostname
 message here


ctrl  D
