Title: How to Computer name and Kernel Version while programming in C?

There are two questions:
Is there a way to get the "Computer Name" by programming in C?
Can we get version of the Linux Kernel with the help of C language and using gcc compiler?

Do we need to have use some system call oe there is some other way.
