Could anyone kindly advice me the essential informations that a System Admin requies for monitoring a Apache(Web) Server. Your valuable information would be much awaited & appreciated.

i personally prefer webalizer and sarg. sarg provide comprehensive report .

you can use webmin that is written exclusively in perl . It can help with the web monitoring,network management, SNMP etc. etc.
http://webmin.com. Check the modules that can provide extensibilitiy.
