hi all
i need help on how i should put a dual boot between windown 98 and mepis linux . how should i do the partitioning

Just make sure you have empty partition of about 3 gb or more then start installing linux and select the partition you have emptyied .. and you are done..

after installation you will have dual boot.. for more info.. see Redhat 9 installation guide (http://www.linuxsolved.com/forums/ftopic301.html) , althought that is for Redhat but will give you an overview :)
