Ubuntu Live CD Using Encryption

Running the Ubuntu Live CD, I'd like to create a text document, encrypt it, and save it to a thumb drive. That much is pretty easy. However, how do I run another LiveCD session at a later time and decrypt the document? How do I 1) save my key, and 2) restore my key for the new session?
