Hello all, here are the steps i have followed in building a linux
1) unzipped the kernel-2.6.29.1 to a specific folder.
2) using menu config, i have included scsi,ext2 & ext3 and initrd as built in(not as modules).
3) built bzimage and the modules & installed them.
4) built the rootfile systems and busybox 1.13.4
in the view of testing:i have modified the menu.list as below:
-> i am using the bzimage i have built, and initrd & rootfile sytem of the ubuntu distribution.
-> after restart, i am getting a message "waiting for rootfile system" after few mins the system hangs with a prompt initramfs>
PS: i am refering to "building emebedded linux" by Karim Yaghmour
please help me with your valuable suggestions
thanks

My recommendation is to try putting lots of debug commands in the scripts to step through and see what went wrong.
