16  Linux Software / Linux Installation Support / Re: SCSI subsystem linux kernel does not allow more than 15 partition:Fedora 7 on: November 12, 2007, 10:10:54 AM
Ricky

Thanks
Thats fine but i have tried on different systems and its giving me same error and it has IDE hard disk.
I think this is genuine problem with fedora. Its restricting beyond 15th partition.

Please let me know if anyone did this before .........

Regards
Vijay

Hi

Yes Ricky your right but if i used some partition for Windows then it's a problem. I have Dual boot system.
Is there any option to bypass this means partition restrictions.
We must think about this issue.what do you think?

Anyway thanks for you help

Thanks in advance

Hi Ricky,

Thanks for your reply but suppose if i want to create more partition then what to do.
Why they are restricting for partition beyond 15 it is only in Fedora or Redhat also.
Please tell me about this.
I want to tell you one thing always i got good info from you and Gaurav.

Thanks in advance

19  Linux Software / Linux Installation Support / SCSI subsystem linux kernel does not allow more than 15 partition:Fedora 7 on: October 30, 2007, 03:03:07 AM
Hello Ricky&Gaurav

I am getting following error while installation Fedora Core 7.

The drive /dev/sdnb hash more that 15 partition on it. The SCSI subsystem in the linux kernel does not allow for more than 15 partition at this time. You will not able to make changes to the partition of this Disc or use any partition beyond /de/sdb15 in fedora.

My PC configuration
CPU-P4
RAM- 512
Installed OS - XP&RedhatEL

I am not using SATA or SCSI hardisk but its showing sda and sdb but in RedhatEL its showing hda and hdb

Thanks in advance
Vijay

If your using transperent then it is possible but im simple i don't know because i am using Transperent another in Transperent you can't restrict your client end but in Simple you can use Authentication.
