3  Network Troublshooting / General Networking Support in Linux / sendmail auth (smtp auth) implementation on: January 26, 2005, 09:12:03 AM
Dear sir

I want to use "smtp auth" feature in the sendmail.i have configured my local lan
and created some users on my redhat linux server 9.0 with sendmail .
I am able to send the mails to outside my network  xyz@yahoo.com   etc.

But i want to use the SMTP AUTH implement feature which will restrict users of my lan
from send mails until /unless they possess username/password on my mail
(sendmail ) server.
The ip based restriction can be done using /etc/mail/access file but
i want to restict the user based restiction i.e the mail sender should possess
valid username/password in my Local mailserver.
In other words my sendmail server should send mails only if i  enable  "My outgoing server requires authentication" and submit the right username/password.
in client side

8  Network Troublshooting / Linux Servers Support / not abale install fedoracore from local harddisk image files on: September 22, 2004, 01:14:55 PM
hello sir

I have downloaded fedoracore-ii copied the cd's with the .iso files
and successfully installed.

But when i want to install the same fedora core through local harddisk imagefiles
it is failing.

I have fedora core cd's are converted into .iso files
             i.e
                     disk1.iso
                     disk2.iso
                     disk3.iso
                     disk4.iso

              using dd command

             dd if=/dev/cdrom of=home1/rh/disk1.iso

i have transfered this to vfat disk
            and stored in directory c:/fedora.

when installing default packages it is getting installed
but failing when choosing "every thing" option.

But when i am trying to install from cd's  "every thing " optiion is also
            working.

i am suspecting the dd command for creating    .iso files.
Is there any better way of doing.?

Even i tried to install using nfs but then also i am encountering error
with some packages, where as same are getting installed when
             trying from cd's.

 please guide me
