Hello friends I having confussion regarding to User Group and other r=4, w=2, x=1 so total is 7 when i had given chmod 333 /tmp/list.txt A list.txt is a file under my /tmp directory i got --wx-wx-wx like this When we say a file having write permission for group or user or other then it must have a read permission for all b'coz when you open file for write it readable So is it true or false if somebudy know abt it kindly reply back Regards Linux User

Hello Friends Recenty I was connected one lan card to my machine after connecting it to machine I was given the following command ifup eth0 I got error Delay Initialization What probelm is going on, not understandable by mine also get the following error regarding to NFS4 showing sunrpc.ko missing Look in to it and send reply ASAP Regards Linux

I want to communicate the two pc from serial port for that i configured my kernel to support serial port but still it given following error first one modprobe slip When i was given the above command it shows me following error FATAL: Module slip not found. when i was given following command slattach -p cslip -s 19200 /dev/ttyS0 & It gives me following error SLIP_set_disc(1): Invalid argument Can anybudy help me regarding to this Regards Linux user

Hi Ricky Thanks for your help After completing whole configuration I had given the command pppd /dev/ttyS0 nodetach I got the followinf Device ttyS0 is locked by pid 3475

Dear Frnd I will trying to connect two pc via SLIP using null modem cable on linux I had done following command slattach –p slip –s 115200 /dev/ttyS0 & It exit after some time When i given following command ifconfig sl0 192.168.0.1 pointopoint 192.168.0.2 up It says device is not found Can anybudy tell me how to do it Regards Linux User

Dear Friends I recently configure mail server, including sendmail, fetchmail But when i telnet my server smtp port i.e. 25 it showing o/p but when I telnet my server pop3 port i.e. 110 it shows error that is telnet: connect to address 192.168.0.254: Connection refused telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused Try to help me on this
