hi
i am new user of linux, i install it in my cafe as a server, with client window xp and 9x , but i cannot open smb.conf file because i donot know about it please tell me how to it open,save,modify, close, at linux dos prompt.
i download all linux command but i donot this please tell me

The Linux equivalent of your administrator login in Windoze is root. Login as root with the appropriate password. Now do something, open the terminal .... from menu->system tools-> terminal

There type
Code:
pico /etc/samba/smb.conf

And you can do the rest of oyur editing, saving, etc.
