hi folks,

I am using RHEL 3 ws linux. I was facing a problem last day while logging in to linux.
After about 2 users logged in, the linux does not allow new user to login. I was trying to login using ssh from remote machine. It prompted for username and passwd but didn't respond after giving the passwd. The same was happening while trying to login directly on the server thrugh the second terminal.

This problem doesnt happen always and doesnt persist on restart.
The mem and cpu utilization was seen normal.

If any of you have faced similar situation and got any solution, pls help.

Thanks in advance
Roldy...

We have Configured NIS in EL-3 AS & we are nis through EL3-WS stations.
wt happening here is after connecting nis users are getting home directoy. If u browse that home it shows how many users are there.my question  is how to user right clicking on his/her home directory. If we allow to right click on their home directory they are giving home direcrtoy access to others.how to deny it.
