Kernel Upgrading

Dear all,

I have Redhat Linux 9 & i want to upgarde my kernel. Please tell me the step by step procedure.

I also wanted to upgrade my kernel of redhat enterprise 4 ws i downloaded the patch but i couldn't upgrade...
