Grub

I installed a Redhat linux after completing the installation grub is not working I try to recover it with linux: linux rescue

# chroot/mnt/sysimage
# /sbin/grub-install/dev/hda

but is not working. Machine boots up and stops to at the prompt of grub> (here type any command to shows Error 27: Unrecognized command)

can anyone tell how to recover it or need to reinstall

What is the output after running that ? Can you post your grub.conf here ?
