hi! i'm using dual os i.e winxp & slackware 9.0 . when linux not recognising my modem i opted to activate ppp0 while booting. now when i boot linux it hangs up at ppp0. when i use interactive startup then it land me in text mode and i dont know how to change over from text to graphic mode. will ne one there to help me on the topic

Well, I have not much used Slackware so I can't suggest that what u exactly should do, you can edit run level.
BTW.. to start X windows ( GUI )
simpley type

startx
when are on text mode.

the other method is to first not setup ppp0 at bootup.
if u do and enter interactively then type

telint 5

it will give you the gui.
