Fedora Core 2: Unable to see Desktop Icons Which Disappeard

(1/1)

dragoncity99:
Hi everyone,

I'm using Fedora Core 2 lately and notice something weird happened.
When i was editing some text files with gedit. Suddenly then desktop icons went "Kazaam" and disappeared. Unable to right click the desktop and bring up the pop up menus as well.

  Anyone encountered this problem before?

Ricky:
Well.. happened to me few times.. but way back with Redhat 8. And I think that was a bug in Gnome heard about that later.

IT was like that .. only desktop icons and else is gone..

I think this is different then your problem !!

dragoncity99:
But now i think it's no longer appearing. After a reboot is applied but of  course i think i changed a few things in the configuration editor to refresh  it.

Other than that, there is one thing often happening to me. If i logged into my pc using thin client (LTSP). as a user (Let's say John), when i login with another pc also with the account "John", it gives me the following error:

 Error activating XKB configuration.
Probably internal X server problem.

hi

if u are using kde and if such a problem occurs regarding icons

just run the command  "kdesktop"

thats it.
