Partition harddrive in linux
« on: July 14, 2004, 08:46:53 AM »
Hi

I use fdisk to see the partitions on my harddrive. I have following partitions

/dev/hda1(boot)
/dev/hda2
/dev/hda3(swap)

Now I want to create a partition named /dev/hda2 . How do i do this plus how do I assign it disk space. The disk space for the other partition in shown in blocks. how do I compare it with MB in other filesystems (like win file system)

Thank you

sorry, i never used it, my guess would be downloading it and read any text files that come with it such as the readme.  also sometime your distro will come with its own partitioning tool, see if yours has one.  sorry i can't be more help but i'm still learning too.
