I am really new to linux so im not sure what that is but i partitioned my 80g harddrive for 40 g for windows Xp pro (works fine) and 40g fro linux but linux cant find my harddrive.

Ricky:
Well.. Live Linux distributions are those linux OS which don't need to be installed on HD for running, You can run them directly from a CD. I adviced you to use any of them to confirm that it is not your hardware problem.

newbert:
i tried slax and it didnt wanna work im not sure if i burnt it right or not it just decided not to load so im gonna try it again tonight.  IF it was hardware would Xp still work?
