i just want to know if hostapd can be used in wired networks? if yes, how ?

I don't know anything about hostapd but I did google and find this:

You may be using a different distro but maybe that will help get you started at least.

i visted this page days ago. this is about wireless and hostapd. i just want to know can hostapd be used in wired networks ??
any one knows about this anything??

please some one help. i have been surfing the entire internet for weeks but my problem with hostapd still remains.
can i use hostapd in wired networks? if yes how ?
