Hi all ,

             PLz suggest me how to configure VNC viewer in Red Hat 9.0 as i want to see the desktop of the particular PC. plz help me in details.

Have u started the vncserver?

All u need to do to make vncviewer work is:

Type the command "vncviewer" in the console/terminal.

A small window will appear.

Enter the ip address of ur VNC server's server with the port as well.

For example:

"192.168.1.1::5900"

The menu will ask u the password of the server.

And bingo, u r in.

To access a windows desktop u need to run some vnc server on windows machine..

To access linux desktop from another linux box simply first time type
"vncserver" then it will ask you to set password then verify that password...
Now follow dragoncity's instruction to access that linux desktop from another linux desktop.

Hi Ricky,

yeah its ok but i dont want to access system friom other system. actually i want netmeeting (win 2000)  type facility in Red Hat 9.0 .

so plz tell me VNC viewer will be suitable for this or there is some other s/w.

There is Genomenetmeeting.. using H.23 protocol .. NOt remember the name but it is the one used by window's netmeeting..
