Canon Powershot G3

Hi,

I am trying to connect the Canon powershot G3 to my Linux pc.
The camera in present in the supported list of digicams for both DigiKam and Digitam Camera tool found on KDE.

when I try to do so... it says "cound not find camera."
The camera hooks on to  the USB port.

any way I can debug...
