My trouble is this: I want to connect to Internet using the USB cable and LG LSP 350T model Tata Indicom Walky.

I've followed instructions offered by someone to someone else, and produced the following details:

First, this is my /etc/wvdial.conf:

(start)
************************************
[Dialer Defaults]

Init1 = ATZ

Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0

Modem Type = Analog Modem

ISDN = 0

New PPPD = yes

Phone = 0172233

Modem = /dev/ttySL0

Username = **********
Password = **********

Baud = 460800

[Dialer 2nd]

Username = **********

Password = coyote

Phone = 0172222

***********************************
(end)

I typed sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf in Terminal, and produced this:

(start)
************************************************************
akash@akash-desktop:~$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

Password:

Found a modem on /dev/ttySL0.

Modem configuration written to /etc/wvdial.conf.

ttySL0<Info>: Speed 460800; init "ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0"

ttyACM0<Info>: Speed 460800; init "ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0"

************************************************************
(end)

Then, I modified my /etc/wvdial.conf...  it's like this now:

(start)
******************************

[dialer defaults]

Init1 = ATZ

Init2 = AT+CRM = 1

ISDN = 0

Modem = /dev/ttyACM0

Baud = 460800

Flow control = Hardware (CRTSCTS)

Carrier check = no

Dial command = ATDT

SetVolume = 0

[Dialer Reliance]

Phone = #777

Username = internet

Password = internet

Stupid Mode = 1

***********************************
(end)

Thirdly, I dialled wvdial Reliance (name should have been Indicom; i made a mistake) and got some thing like this:

(start)

************************************************************
akash@akash-desktop:~$ wvdial Reliance

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.56

--> Cannot get information for serial port.

--> Initializing modem.

--> Sending: ATZ

--> We failed to authenticate ourselves to the peer.

--> Maybe bad account or password? (exit code = 19)

--> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail.

--> I guess that's it for now, exiting

--> The PPP daemon has died. (exit code = 19)

akash@akash-desktop:~$

************************************************************
(end)

Kindly analyse this and help me. I am using Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft.

Ok, this seems to be permission problem.
Try initiating wvdial using root privilage or su !

Then tell us what you get !
