About Clamav problem

Friend ,
 I am facing the following problem using "clamav"

1) when i use the following command :
     tail -f /var/log/clamav/clamd.log

then it shows :
WARNING: Socket file /usr/share/clamav/socket exists. Unclean shutdown? Removing...
ERROR: Socket file /usr/share/clamav/socket could not be removed: Permission denied
   I don't understarnd what is the problem .

2 ) I want to know my clamd process is running or not ? then i use the following command :
         "ps -e | grep "clamd"
It shows nothing ...................what happen !!!
