Hello All !!!

May I know how to configure the shapecfg the bandwidth traffic shaper. I am using RedHat 9.0. I have done masq to share the net.

We are having 50 windows clients in the office. Bandwidth is 256kbps..

1. eth0 - is public IP
2. eth1 - is private IP (192.168.1.1).

Plz help me regarding this...!! how to do this ??

Please refer the documentation for RH9 under redhat's official website.

But i encourage u to use squid as a bandwidth manager rather than using squid. It's design actually to narrow down ur bandwidth for sub-routers from a main router.

Well for squid.. you have to first install it.. See the tutorial i have posted in how to section of this forum..ie. linuxsolved.com and then learn how to use delay pools.
If you want to have bandwidth control then you can make group of 4-5 terminals using there ip address and then make different delay pools for each.
Offcourse you will need dhcpd to make sure that every client is getting same address every time.. ie.. using mac address to assign same ip again n again.. !!
