How to know internet speed through ssh

I have access to one computer through ssh, now i want to that how much actual internet speed / bandwidth to it has ie. the what is the situation of internet connectivity for it.
So how I can measure it ?

If u have "iptraf" installed, it might help.

Most of the linux distros have this packaged included in networking package.

Iptraf will help , just start downloading a file to your server and then navigate to general packet info section
