nat in linux
« on: May 20, 2005, 09:17:53 AM »
I am having a linux server as a proxy server using by squid. Here in my server i put two cards and my ADSL router is in bridged mode.So i put a ststic ip-address in one card and put a private ip in another card. Now the proxy is working fine.

In this setup, one of my client having POLYCAM video-conferencing kit and they configured in local successfully. Now the client need to connect another destination video-conferencing kit in another location. The destination system is directly connected from a ADSL router with LLC over PPOE.

Now the client wants to connect the destination system but its not possible because it is under Proxy.when i spoke to the tele-conferencing technical engineer and he told me that it is not working under Proxy. He added a note that there is a way to configure linux NAT using iptables and it will be working.

Is there any way to configure this type NAT and Squid Proxy running together??

Can anybody help me to sort out this problem???

Stephen ! I remember that you are a old member of LS.

So when someone wants .. PROXY  with NAT then he wants transparenet proxy.

And I hope we have already contributed a lot in this feature :) .

You need transparent proxy.
