hey,
i am trying to install a new samba server in redhat linux.i have compiled and installed the source package of samba and all has been done without any warning or error.now whenever i try to start the smbd service it gives me the following error
/usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libtalloc.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
plzzz help me.......:(

I don't use samba but found this:
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libtalloc.so.2 (http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libtalloc.so.2)
Maybe that page will help you to find and install the correct versions to get that library.
Wish I could help more but I don't know much about that software.
